One of the easiest song to recognize among warbler songs this species has.
It also has a nice colour patter.
Thanks for looking.

Excellent image. Love the inquisitive pose, beautiful colors, nice details and composition.

Satish.
Sweet image Karl - a little more DOF would have been nice, but its still lovely,
Cheers, Greg
Are you going for a world record for the amount of Warblers you can capture LOL.
Sweet bird and shot, some nice detail and nicely isolated from surrounds...although wishing the eye contact with camera was a little better
Thanks Phil.
I did better a few years back, when I got close to twenty species at Point Pelee and Rondeau, both in Canada.
This year I included both places plus Magee Marsh, Ohio. Seen twenty-five sepcies of Warblers but photographed only a few.
We lost more then fifty percent of the songbirds in the last twenty years as per a research done by a professor and her associates
here in Canada and USA.
Neat bird, nice color pattern. It is a little large in the frame but I know you have to get what you can with these. I have several warbler shots but they are always cluttered or have motion blur, etc.
Lovely closeup of this beauty. Nice detail. I envy your warbler collection. I just returned from Magee where I happened to hit the two worst days in anyone's memory, only to have to leave the day the fallout occurred.
My gosh, Karl. Your warbler collection has blossomed this season. I have almost none. Lovely image of this bird. I think that a looser composition might be another way to present this image, if you have the room. Not "instead of" but "in addition to".![]()
I can't believe how close you are getting and how many warblers you are getting.
Really fine work.

Wonderful close up of a wonderful bird
i love the presentation here
One of my favorite warbler species, mainly because they are so common at my parents' cottage...plus it helps that they look great! I agree that the comp could use more breathing room, but the exposure, details, colours all look good..
Thank you all, I appreciate your comments.
I like to read about birds and birding related books. Here is one for you. This is the one a was referring to.
The author is a University professor, scientist, author, has dual citizenship in Canada and in USA.
Her book is about the decline of the songbirds in the two countries, USA and Canada.
As a scientist she did extensive research with the help of her associates, to substantiate her
very sad statements regarding the decline of the songbirds.
Here is the book: http://www.amazon.ca/Silence-The-Son.../dp/0002007282
I warn you; it is a very sad story if you really like birds.

Great shot Karl.
What a beautiful bird.
Great perch, nice background, and nice details.
Well done.
Sad to hear that this beautiful species is in the decline.
Focus of the picture is drawn to the eye of the bird and then to the yellow and black colors. Lovely image.
