~The wind was perfect yesterday and gave me some opportunity to get some shots like this one as the owl was hovering in the air for a few times for a second or two. They appeared to be concentrating on the movement on the ground. This pair must be working very hard as it needs to feed 5 healthy chicks. One thing I wish I had yesterday is the 1Dx, just to get that few frames each time they did that.

great shot Troy! love the wing position and nice that you got him sharp, these are one of the toughest birds to get in flight. I like the wing position too. did you take this one late in the afternoon? it does have a subtle cast but might be from low warm light

Arash, you are correct. It was near sunset.

Nice flight image, Troy. Seeing a magenta cast. Love the center framing.

Troy, this is a lovely shot. You had him looking directly at you with the catch light in both eyes. Nice and sharp, good wing position. These guys are very fast!

    This is really good, Troy.
Eye contact is superb, and I like the DOF.
Sharp where it needs to be and very nice flight pose.
