    Default Sawainson Hawk

Went to the Canadian Raptor Conservatory to shoot some raptors. This shot was taken under diffused light, but still not great light. Settings: D300S, 300mm f2.8, 1/125 sec at f4, ISO 200.[IMG][/IMG]

    LEN:

I like the spread wing/tail pose, modest sized perch, soft bg.

The color balance is very cool and I believe it would display better warmed up a bit. The image is also a bit dark, so exposure could be bumped up a bit.

Because of his gaze, if you have a bit more room below, I believe that would make for a stronger comp.

    Cheers

Randy covered all the important stuff. Nice view under the wings and the spread tail. Looking forward to more posts from you.

Agree with points above. The pose with the fanned tail is lovely, with a nice BG as well. Look forward to more of your work.

Just needs a tweak with the color cast and this would be extra nice...great feather spread and backlight

    Len,

Remarks from everyone are spot on. I really like the timing of the capture but wish for more light. I think you could have raised the ISO quite a bit, buying some more SS and a brighter image. Maybe next time?

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I see that the green background is a little oversaturated. This happens when I put it on Flickr. The original in lightroom is more toned down.
