    Sid,

    I like the FAML look you achieved and the dark BG. I would have liked to see a bit more DOF as the OOF legs are a bit distracting. Using FAML you might have been able to go even lower with the shutter speed to compensate for the smaller aperture and the flash will freeze the bird and give you a sharp image.

    The eys have it in this image - I love the electric look.

    Excellent point Robert! You could have stopped down to f/11 without a problem since the flash is acting as the effective shutter speed. I might darken the pupils a bit as you've got a little red eye.

    I like the pose, the crop, the dark background, and of course, the eyes - except for the double catchlights. I would clone the ones on the outsides of the pupils. Wish the perch was more natural looking.
