The other title for this image of a female Cresent Honeyeater was going to be " You and Me and the Rain on the Roof " { song by the Loving Spoonfull ...some may remember "

An infrequent visitor to my garden, so jumping at the chance while it's there, taken about 2 hours ago after watering the parched garden = record heat here for May and needing rain badly

Canon 7D + 500 f4.....f6.3, 1/320, ISO 800, manual exposure, no flash used, tripod mounted......crop to vertical, selective sharpen and slight noise removal to backdrop

Loving Spoonful, Funny, havent heard that name in a while. Your showing your age Great looking shot of this unique Honeyeater. Techs look good and the head is nice and sharp. Nice smooth BG and the flower umbrella makes the shot real cool. Well done Phil

I like the way the umbrella mimics the honeyeater on the perch in this composition. Nice details on the head, and the eye is captivating. Very nice image, Phil - I remember the Spoonful as well

Thanks for looking, this old person appreciates it LOL.....I'm a bit disappointed in it in regards to softness due to shallow dof though

Hi Phil, the leaning pose with the birds shape following the line of the flower puts this over the top. The vertical comp works well, and you have a great smooth BG.

    One of your best.

Love the angled perch and the way the flower follows the posture of the bird. I like the inquisitive look of the bird and the composition also looks good, Phil.
