A very nice image, Freddy. The bird is sharp, I like the diagonal composition of the stem and the placement of the bird in the frame, and the head angle is good. I have only a couple minor suggestions. I would add just a bit at the top so that the curved flower stalk is not clipped by the frame. I would also consider cloning the out-of-focus red blob in the lower left corner as it tends to draw my eye.
I like everything about this - nice diagonal line as mentioned, greatl background, and wonderful pose of this beautiful species. I think I agree that removing the red area on the lower left would make it even better. Super image!
For that red blob a favorite technique of mine is using the sponge tool and desaturate the spot some (maybe 6-8% opacity, repeat if necessary). You would still retain some red, but only very subtly. Also agree giving room for the curved stem above. Apart from that this is amazing work!!
Way to go Freddy. You're racking up excellent post after excellent post lately. Nits have been covered already, and if addressed would make an already strong image even stronger.
This is quite beautiful. I love the sharpness, bright color and the perch. Removing/desaturating the red in the left corner would improve this excellent photo.
Congratulations on an excellant shot of this beauty. Besides all the great learning tips I am getting on this site, I really love being able to see all these beautiful birds that are always pictured here better than in any of my books. This one is no exception.
Lovely, but for the need for more room for that upper stem. I am fine with the d-o-f as is.
Was this at a set-up? If yes, what brought the bird in?
