Went back to the spot I found a few birds last week and got lucky again!

This bird popped on the best possible branch while I was scouting for more birds. I only had my 400mm lens with me, when this male flew up the bush and landed in an open spot. I immediately ran up the adjacent hill as quickly as I could and managed a few shots before he flew off!

Odd techs, but I was expecting a bird in the shade, so the only thing I could do was adjusting my shutter speed quickly enozh to not blow out the bird.

Beautiful shot. Sharp as a tack. Beautiful perch and BG. I like the amount of negative space. Great flash work.

    Jan,

Love this one. Really enjoy your blog as well - and always look forward to your posts!

The red berries are a plus, and the head turn is just right!

Lovely look back pose - great background. I've never seen this species in the wild! Nice flash work - I can not tell if a flash has been used.
