This is SO nice. Beautiful bird, colors, sharpness, pose and background. And the intense stare of that mighty little hunter is impressive. You might crop away a little of the negative space on the left, but this is a most pleasing image.

Thanks for showing this to us!

Great bit of eye candy Vivaldo, sharp and lovely light, the light has illuminated it's colors so very nicely and the color tones in the backdrop work in very nicely to compliment the birds color tones.....just lovely !

Very, very nice image, Vivaldo! Excellent colors, feather texture, and the BG is killer nice with the hint of blue water.

Nice hovering pose, great warm tones and rich colours. Perhaps just a bit of NR to the wing could be applied, but all-in-all a very pleasing image.

Hi Viv, great hovering pose from the little jewel, and the colours are spot on. Good fast ss to get him nice and sharp, and thats a killer BG.

    Vivaldo,

Handheld?! How? That is impressive! Small, fast moving, long focal length = tough handheld subject. Nicely captured!

Thanks Miguel I have been trying to handhold the 600 recently. It is heavy and can be difficult to get sharp pic's but have been surprised as to how many sharp images I get. The fast frame rate of the D4 helped get this shot. This bird hovered for a few second and that was the key to getting it sharp. I wish the lens was alot lighter
