This has been a good year for all Owls, after 3 years a pair of Great Horned Owls have 2 owlets. They are both doing well and are getting more active every day.
The area where these birds have their nest is also alive with migrants, so each day after my shift ends at 6am, I've been going by to see how the youngster are doing. I imageine very soon they will be out in the open on one of the many branches on the tree.

I took this image with my new Nikon D7100 and the new 24.1MP sensor. I have only had a few days to play with this camera and this is one of the first images I've taken.

Cropped, sharpened a bit and I used Topaz Clean for the effect.

Very cool!! One of the few instances of Clean that I've seen that I like! The "clean" BG, to me, is excellent.

Hi, Paul, they are adorable! What a wonderful thing to look forward to after work. The Clean works well for the image. I think I might take some off of the right hand side?

Cute little fuzzy guys. We have them here (I hear them, but seldom see them.) Nice processing, Paul.

Very cute! Love the way the light is playing on the heads of the little owls. Good job taming the "clean" beast, that's a tough one to get right. Congrats on the new hardware!

Darling! Love the eyes and fuzzy heads. The mottled bkgd with the bright blues make a great back drop. Your shift ends at the perfect time for you to experience the early morning bird activity.

I love the cute owlets and your processing is perfect. Clean is one of my favorite filters. You are lucky to be able to see them so often. Congrats on the new camera.

    Hi Paul,

Love the effect of the clean on the owlets feathers. Lucky you being able to visit them everyday...they are remarkably cute!
