This Warbler species was the most common at Magee Marsh but it did not make photography any easier.
I got a few clean shots and many not so clean ones.
    Thanks for looking.

Top notice details, exposure, colors on this stunning bird, Karl. Lovely BG and calling pose. In a perfect world, I wish the perch weren't descending so close to his head.

Hi Karl, lovely colours on this fellow, and great that you captured him with an open beak. I do like how the roundness of the chest follows the line of the perch. I also like the lighter pastel colour of the BG.

spectacular! Looks like a very well-done illustration. (That's a compliment.) It's so clean. The shadows seem a bit dark to me, though.

I like the image here, the HA is good and the colors look nice
Open beak does add a lot of interest to the image,

    Thanks Diane.
I forgot to open up the shadows in the throat area. Now I did.

Super sharp photo of this little guy with very nice details.
It does seem to have a bit of a blue caste to it to my eyes, although
that may be a regional variation.

Thanks Dan. I was thinking about reducing the blue, but I'm not sure about the true colours so I left it as it was.

Good re post Karl.....I really like the different style hanging perch, although wishing it was a little sharper. Bird itself is a cracker, lots of sharp detail and beautiful colors, singing pose tops it off, nice catchlight in the eye but wish the iris was slightly lighter....great clear backdrop and looks like good control of flash.

Interesting you say there were plenty of these around at the time of shooting but that did not make it any easier to get a good shot, I often find when there are lots around getting a keeper often seems more difficult

I really like your re-post, Karl . . . the visual confusion of the right foot and the vertical branch it's on detracts a bit (for me) . . .

Repost a bit better. The detail is amazing on the bird and the contrast and pose pretty nice too Karl. I only wish all of the perch were in focus

    Karl:

I like the adjustments in the repost, like the scale of the perch, but do wish it was more in focus, as others have mentioned.

    Cheers

Cool-looking warbler, nice light and sweet BG. I also find the perch a bit distracting where it touches the bird's belly but there's not much you can do about it.

Excellent image.Great IQ, very nice colors and superb details.I like the composition.Love the pose with open beak.
Since the BG is so clean and smooth, you can play with perch by cloning and reconstruct as you wish.

    Satish.
