    Default Juvi Ibis in Flight

    Attached Images Attached Images

There's something about the juvenile white ibis that puts a smile on my face. I especially like the plumage on this guy/gal. This was taken a couple of weeks back at the local trail. Not the best of backgrounds, and I sure wish the near wing was a bit lower to even things out, but I was pleased when I saw this on the LCD.

Haven't been on the forum in a while, but I always snuck a peek when time permitted. Going on a weeklong birding trip next week before moving from FL to NM! I will be "stocking up" on shorebirds over the next week, so get ready!

    Shooting Info:
    Nikon D800 | 500 f/4 + 1.4x
    1/2000" | f/6.3 | ISO 1000

    Feedback and comments are appreciated!

Nice flight pose and super exposure, although I might tone down the brightness just a tad. I believe the bird, esp the head, could use some more sharpening.

I like this bird in juvi plumage. It is a very nice flyght shot, with the wings down, beak slightly open. Shooting angle also looks good. Great work, Miguel.

Good pose and comp Miguel on this basic fly-by image. Goodluck on the move...there is no shortage of avian subjects in NM, but yeah, shorebirds won't be as plentiful!

Nicely timed with the down swept wings, looks sharp and nice against the soft blue sky backdrop, always like to see the beaks of these slightly open as you have done....all looks quite good to me...good stuff Miguel

Hi Miguel, good flight pose, well exposed, and I do like the all the detail you have captured. Sometimes, we can do nothing if our subjects decide to take to the skies.

Nice capture Miguel. Good job on the exposure and the wing position, looks cool with the molting feathers. I totally understand about the desire for a non sky BG , but we take whats served up in front of us.
    Well done.
