    A crane at Bosque last year - BAA ITP - They just seem to enjoy getting up after a cold and chilly night.

    1D MK4, 700mm, 1/2000 @ 5.6, ISO 320. Manual mode with tripod.

    Love the elegant pose very much, love the raise wings, the glaring look, and how the feet are just above the water. Good sharpness and details as well. The splashing droplets is a bonus. Might try to try see what happen with a bit more room at the top.

    Sweet light, great action. Makes me feel like dancing. Even the bird's gaze draws my attention to the acion.

    Agree with the assessment and suggestions. I would have liked to see this with a lower angle to include more of the two tone BG. Elegant pose.

    I like the sweet light and dancing pose, good details. wish for a bit stronger eye contact

    I love the tapping foot action and flying droplets. I agree with a tad more room above, and I'd eliminate the white speck in the water (in front of the foot). Nice light and colours!

    I like the action, sharpness, light and exposure. Another vote for more of the beautiful BG at the top. I don't mind not having eye contact. Very well done Tom!

    Wonderful dancing pose you have captured here. Love the pose,wing position,colors and lights.

    Just a note - realised that I did remove a OOF bird in the BG. Just its leg as the rest of the bird was hidden behind this one's wing.

    Love the pose -- great timing! What would you think about toning down the orange in the BG just a little?
