Hi Clyde- I've never seen a Willet with a light eye like this. The image shows the breeding plumage very nicely and you did well to get the calling action. This is never easy. I can suggest a few things. I would give the subject more room in the frame to let him "breathe" a bit. Also I would up the contrast a little. Linear contrast in Curves is quite useful for that. Re. sun angle, the subject would have been better lit had you moved around to the right some, and got the sun more behind you.

John hit the high points nice capture. The tight frame is the main thing for me,..need room to breath - especially at the bottom. Always walk your eye around the frame and ensure the subject is not cut off or appears tight in the image. Thanks for sharing,..keep em coming.
