    Default Fall color in the Smokies

    I did this one the same day as the abandoned house using about the same technique of Aquarella and layered that over the original and lowered opacity a little. I also used a Color Efex filter but don't remember which one, and I used 2 textures on it also.

    A very nice painting Judy, the technique works really well. I like how the trees bend in to make a canopy for the road, and the s-curve of that road leading into the distance. Very serene mood, well done.

    Another painterly image. I like the composition, with the road curving to the left and leading...who knows where?! The darker trees on either side create a subtle frame. Lovely colors.

    Hi, Judy, I feel like I've been there I hadn't been to the Smokies since I was a child and it was just beautiful. Not much car traffice this time of year - I can only imagine what's it's like during leaf season.

    I hope you had a wonderful experience in the Smokies Cheryl! I know there was a lot of rain up that way over the weekend and here in MS on Friday also. This scene was on Newfound Gap Rd heading to the Gap overlook from Sugarlands Visitor Center.
