    Default Blue Grosbeak

Had the opportunity to photgraph this guy while out on my farm this evening. Downloaded the Lightroom 4 trial a couple of days ago and this is my first time using this software. Previously all my post processing work has been done through Corel Paintshop Pro 3. So far I'm liking Lightroom but it is taking some getting use to so all comments and critique are appreciated as I'm considering this software in addition to what I currently use. Slight levels adjustment with noise reduction on the BG and sharpening on the bird. Thanks for looking!

I like the pose, nice enviroment although a bit bright on the greens. IQ isn't great the bird looks a bit soft and grainy. your shutter speed was too slow, it was a tough low light situation

Super pose and environment. Lovely bird/colors but I am not seeing any feather details on the bird.

I agree with the other comments but perhaps the biggest mistake in this photo is the ID, that's a Blue Grosbeak! Have a good day :)

I agree with what the others have posted. Was this perhaps a big crop? I must say that I love the habitat and composition.

Sorry for the honest "biggest mistake". You are correct. We have Indigo Buntings around my area as well and thats the first thing that jumped in my head while I was posting. I'll see if I can correct the title.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and leaving your comments/critique! I certainly appreciate them. I think the contributing factor that has caused what most have mentioned here with lack of detail in the bird is that this was a relatively large crop caompared to what I try to stick to. You are correct Daniel! Once I get home from work tonight I'll see if I can rework things a little to improve what others have mentioned about the BG. Thanks again for taking the time to comment!

I don't know about the processing options but it's certainly a nice capture and nicly composed.
