Just as with human kids, spoonbills have to encourage their young to find their own way.
(Capt Shadle was such a help explaining various behaviors of the birds that we saw while out on the Hooptie Deux.)

Super sharp, great action and the colors of the birds have been exposed just right. I like the pink reflections in the water also.

You pretty much hit this out of the park!
    Exceptional sharpness, light and action.
I can hear them talking to each other.
The feet splashing is really nice and the BG line reflecting the raised wings?
    Perfect....

Love the adult/juvi interaction capture. Also, nice exposure on the shallow water (sandy colored) light blue lores on the kid, and the adult's typical spoony colors. 'Wouldn't change a thing.

Grace this is truly a graceful shot!! One of your best I would say, the poses and the colours are just beautiful, your exposure is spot on and the light is perfect. I can imagine your face when you saw this on the back of your camera. Well done.

Nice capture Grace. Great interaction and I like seeing the color difference between the two. Techs are perfect and the whole scene looks great with the transitioning colors. I agree, one of your best in a while. Congrats!

Super cool interaction! The walking poses and raised wings add alot of dynamics to the scene, not to mention the splashing water too. Great low angle.
