A cloudless mid-day in Florida is not the best time to be shooting birds, but I took a lunch break to walk through the rookery at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm back in February with a Nikon D300, 70-200 VRI + Nikon 1.4 tc and an SB800 flash. Not one minute into the walk these two Spoonbills got into a 3 second aerial squabble in the open sky before going their separate ways. Harsh conditions but it was a rare moment. Shot at 165mm, f/5.6, 1/1600, iso 400. Next time I'll try to get them to do it in the 7:30 am light.
