    Default Help with ID - Is This A Summer (aka Cooper's) Tanager?

    Taken this past weekend at High Island in the field at Boy Scout Sanctuary. Is this a Summer (aka Cooper's) Tanager?

    Looks good to me for Summer Tanager.

    Unfortunately I don't know the western subspecies well, but the color is definitely odd compared to our eastern birds (one of which I just saw yesterday). From the photo it's tough to tell how much of the overall color is from molt.
