I finally had time to work on an image today. I've been snowed under working on our 50th class reunion next weekend. This is an image from the Smoky Mountains last October, made in light rain. I bought Aquarella (watercolor app) for the PC and created one, then took it into Topaz Adjust for a little tweaking. I applied 2 textures and a vignette. Then I layered it over the original about 70% opacity.

Love the colors in this, Judy! The fall foliage creates a nice frame for the house. Personally I wish it had a little more sharp detail, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks Christopher. I wish it did too and I tried to bring some back but it kept losing the artsy look and colors.

Judy, this is one of the best painterly looks I've seen. Very nice job on the filtering and on the original capture as well. My only suggestion is to evict the bits of trees that go above the tree line in the top center of the image, as they tend to pull my eye. Very nicely done!

This looks like a happy abandoned house, due to the bright fall colors. You achieved a painterly look. I can feel the brilliance of the leaves. Well done.

Judy, I like the way your processing produced those "paint-like dots" of color all over. Since the house does not have detail, I would try a version that made the chimney and surrounding area darker. I think that would provide some contrast that would work in nicely.

Thanks Nancy and that's a good idea. I thought of darkening it after I posted it but didn't have time at the moment.

Thanks Hazel, Anita and Cheryl! The reunion this past weekend was a huge success and everyone thanked me for all the work I put in. The committee gave me two nice gift certificates!
