    Default Tree Swallow.

One of the more agile and graceful flyers out there, here it takes a small break from its aerial activities to pose for the camera . Photographed from the car near a nestbox, which is just right of the frame. There a few nest boxes being investigated by swallows there, I just chose the one that was next to the nicest fence post for perch.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f/6.3, ISO 800, natural light, lens resting on car door, FF.

Fantastic! Love the open bill, perch, and of course your nice background. Just enough gradient to keep it from feeling sterile.

That is a nicely weathered fencepost, the bird is gorgeous, so is the BG. You are cranking out some awesome product with that 7D and 500.

Nice DOF and very nice perch for this guy.
Colors look very nice, you must have had some nice muted light, it looks very natural.

The things i like about this are the colors exposed so perfectly blue and white , the open bill makes it more interesting.

    Daniel:

Lovely portrait of this graceful bird. Love to watch them flit around.

Soft light, well exposed, pretty nice perch for a fence post!

Hope to see your flying shots soon!

    Cheers

Very nice Daniel. Your best post with the new lens IMO. About as good as it gets. Great pose with the draped wings and the open mouth, nice weathered perch, smooth BG and killer exposure and detail add up to a perfect shot IMHO, Wish it were mine.

Great image Daniel! I like the light, exposure, open beak, details, sharpness, perch, composition and BG.
