Spent the morning at Blue Cypress Lake today and I have to say all the stories I have heard of this place do not do it justice the lake is beautiful and the Ospreys are to numerous to count we where told that over three hundred nest were counted this year. This image was taken later in the morning and while it has a bit more contrast between the shadows and highlights then I would like it is pretty close to image I had pre visualized before making the trip.

Super sharp image Don. It' nice that the tail is at full spread as well as the wings. Such a nice perch for an Osprey.

The Osprey looks stunning. Wish for a less dominant perch.

I rather liked the original perch in all it's gnarly glory. Quality of light/exposure on this bird is very good, love the fully outstretched wings, such a wonderful display of feathers and marking, all very sharply focused...love the reaching out talons....if I could wish for anything better it would be to see the eyes slightly more upturned to the camera, but then if that was the case the poor bird would miss the perch LOL

I travelled all around this image and love every bit of it (the original), even the debris hanging from what must be a web. You handled the light well and the outstretched wings and gaze of the bird are intense. Nicely done.

I like the repost, I still might tone down the perch a bit.
    Perfect wingspan captured here.

Wow 300 + nests thats a big figure, for a person like me who has seen in all 8 ospreys

I like the repost as it draws more focus to the Bird than the OP, the bird is so nicely captured that the other things are really secondary, however i may like a bit toning down of the greens in the frame.

I am still looking at the image , the fan tail makes it special for me

Wonderful picture with outstretched wings in sharp focus. I loved the 1st post with secondaries & the web in the perch giving a more of natural feel. (personal opinion)

I love the stretched out wings and spread tail of this beautiful bird of prey. I prefer the original image as the bird is looking down into more space and the perch has character.

Great eye contact Don and although I do love the perch, less is definitely better but I would have taken it halfway between the two posts. Awesome wing spread too
