I've been out of touch for a while.......but will be headed back to the Smoky Mountains this weekend for an early spring look at the park.
This was taken on Sparks Lane last year.............been so long I can't remember how it was processed, other than Simplify and some lighting work.

Thanks for looking.................I welcome your comments.

It's good to have you back, and I hope you'll be posting some more of your Great (and great) Smokies images when you return from this trip. I haven't been there YET, but this is how I imagine it must look. I like the leading lines of the fence and road as well as the strong foreground colors (nice painterly effect) fading into the fog.

Jay, great to have you back and your image is outstanding! You have a special touch for these pixel paintings. I love the lush yellow accents against the green, and the road leading to the large tree is wonderful. Is the fog natural? I haven't been to the Smokies since the late 60's... I lived in Indiana then and it was a shorter drive, but I would love to see them again.

Hi Kerry, Thank you. Yes, the fog is natural and almost always to be found somewhere in the morning. One of my favorite places on the planet.

Wonderful to see you & your dramatic images back! This is beautiful and that touch of lighting on the tree at the end of the road is the cherry on the top!

The lighting is exceptional in this beautiful scene, and I love the painterly look! I hope we can go to the Smokies in May.

Jay I've always said digital photography allows me to do things I wish I could do with a brush but I have absolutely no talent. I wished I'd taken this image. Lovely, the colors, details, fog .... love all of it. very well done.

I enjoy seeing various views of Sparks Lane. This one, with the broad overview, is very nice. The light and colors move my eye from the left, across the image, to the tree, and up to the fog. Very nicely done.
