    Spent a fun day with Capt Shadle on the Hooptie Deux last week. He pointed out this pelican bathing and suggested some different settings.

    Grace;

    Always fun when out with Capt. James.

    Excellent shooting angle, love the spray, slow shutter speed, sharp eye, well exposed.

    I might consider a small crop from the right.

    Look forward to more from your outing!

    Cheers

    Look at all of that movement and the head is sharp at 1/250 SS.

    Ditto Randy, except I'm fine with the crop because the water spray is part of your subject.

    Hi Grace, The water spray makes the image for me I can see James and Randy points when it comes to the crop if it were mine I would have gone just a tad tighter.

    Nice capture Grace. Love the water spraying all over and the fact that the head is sharp. Not sure about the slower shutter on the bathing scene as I really like bathing scenes with frozen balls of mercury water. Something different, kinda like a slow shutter on a waterfall. Well done

    He/she is obviously enjoying ever moment of this bath, sharpness is retained in the head region nicely....amazing at such low shutter speeds well captured and I like the comp as it is

    I like the low angle, sharpness, composition and water drops. I like the effect on the water drops with the slower shutter speed. Excellent image Grace.

    Very cool. Love the low angle, subject's angle relative to us, and the beautiful BG. Super nice pelican image!

    Love the action with all the water spray. If it were mine, I might try just a tad off of the right.

    Beautiful Grace! I like the crop as is. The arc of the splash is very nice. Wish I could have made it out on the boat with you guys that day!
