    Malheur NWR, Oregon. 5-1-08

    40D, 1.4X II, 500 f4 L IS, f11, 1/400, ISO 400, AV, AiServo, taken out the truck window on a bean bag.

    You nailed the timing on this one James, with great eye contact and wing position. The crop is good too. Light appears somewhat harsh, and the bird is OOF. It would help if you would post the technicals from the photo.

    Nice catch, but the entire image is soft. I think the head area, especially the eye, needs to be sharp. What shutter speed did you use. Good background...and the yellow is striking...tom

    Very cool. Great postion. The eye and yellow patches are perfectly positioned. Love it.

    Hi James,
    Although I'm not a huge fan of wing blurs.....I find myself liking this one a lot......must be that very nice BG. My least favorite in the image is the perch........looks a bit hot on my monitor and could use some toning down. Still, you got me liking the wing blur.......and that's not an easy task. Well done,
