Daily marine layers have have made photography conditions less than ideal recently. So here is one from almost a year ago. But even now I remember the scene very well. This aggressive avocet hassled these two mallard ducklings for a very long time, bothering Mama as well, before giving up and retreating to another part of the pond. The image is pretty heavily cropped and is not as crisp as I'd like, but I do like the story it tells.

This image does tell a good story! You might consider cropping off the top layer of white, leaving just a tiny bit of of some of the white sparkles. The rest of that layer is a visual jumble that detracts from the image. Also, maybe a bit of curves to add some contrast.

What a great story. I think I would consider a crop like this.

The repost crop seems to work nicely, the light is a bit bright, but nicely timed and i think maybe I'd also be running away fast if someone pointed that Epee style beak in my direction as well

The recrop does work well, I'd preform some CCW rotation too though. Funny natural history image, and it gives a sense of the size of the avocet.
