Hi, folks, sorry I haven't been participating much lately - I've been at the Florida Birding and Photography Festival and now I'm headed to the mountains. Here's a turkey from Dudley Farm State Park. He was very protective of his female friend and keep sliding up to the fence and looking at me with one eye. I used Pixel Bender Oil Paint and then Render>Lighting Effects to focus the light on his eye and then Nik Detail Extractor.

Even with all the color and detail, that eye is a compelling element of the image. Good application of Pixel Bender Oil Paint. Starting at the eye and going CCW, there's a spiral that I think probably adds a lot to the appeal of the image.

Cheryl, this is a perfect example of how to break a rule and achieve a great effect. The eye being dark pulls the viewer into it, as it is surrounded by brighter elements. Love the processing too and the tight framing, very nicely done.

Kerry gave words to exactly what I was thinking! You can tell this turkey is serious about his girl!
