    Default Male Hawfinch

    Hi All,

Here's one from a few weeks ago. Male Hawfinch. Over the winter months I've had the pleasure photographing this species most weekends
but the majority of the time the light was pants.

There were odd occasions when the light was good this was one of those times. Hope you like it.

Lovely bird with a nice look back pose. The BG is awesome and a great backdrop for this bird. Exposure looks good. I would sharpen the bird's head a little more.

Great looking bird, excellent light and pose. The background seem to compliment the colours of the bird.

A very handsome bird and the BG is perfect for this image. I agree with Marina about a little more sharpening.

Really very nice color palette overall. Are these birds heads dispropotionately large or is that a perspective thing? Nice work.

Really like this one, love the details, the color, the post, perch and background. The wing pattern look very interesting, wish I could see one in real life. I would consider sharpening just the eye a little bit more.

Love this shot, gorgeous colours - congratulations! - boy you are lucky to have one near you, I have been looking all round Wirral and North Wales - no luck!
It is a very eye catching image and as such tends to draw a great deal of attention (a bit circular but you get my drift). This makes me re-examine the bill and the head, I would apply another round of sharpening.

PS - like your web site.

Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated. Glad you like it. I thought more sharpening may have been needed when I uploaded it and now see it defiantly does, thanks.

    Cheers,

    Carl.
