This image was taken at Conowingo dam last December on a cloudy mrning. I was lucky t capture a coupe of images while the sun was trying to break thru cloud. PP in PS6 with NIK Color Extraction. I'm new to this software, so appreciate your comments.

    Loi,

I love the shooting angle the wide long wing really makes the vertical format work. What are you doing with NIK Color Extraction? The image looks a bit worked and I am wondering if this additional processing caused that effect. Now, do not miss understand me,..I like it ,..and the look is cool just appears a bit altered,..lets see what others say,..might just be me. Did changing to a vert force a large crop,..this could also cause the image to lose some quality?

Nice job with the high ISO, F8 and tripod,..good field technique. Love this bird and I bet you were excited to see one fly by. I shoot eagles in the winter and alway get all amped up when one is in view. Nice post, keep em coming.

Lori. That is a very cool picture, but I have to agree with Jeff , that it does look worked. I suspect you turned up the brightness under the wings in processing. I like the pic and sky color looks good.

Agree with the others. I think the best description I can come up with is, it almost looks like
an illustration...something I'd find in a bird book. I do like it though.

I appologize for posting an awful image. I was just playing around with the NIK Color software to brig out more details in the dark feathers, but this image was under-exposed for the under-wing and has too much noise. Tried to reduce the noise in this versin. Not a great image, but shuld look better.

    thank you

Hi Loi- I much prefer the original with all that great detail in the underside. Detail is missing in the repost. I might reduce the saturation a little in the OP but other than that I'd keep it as it is.

Loi, I'd be very exited to capture an eagle, so kudos to you for being able to! I agree the OP looks a bit over-worked, but think somewhere in between that one and the repost would work better for me.

One more vote for the "Over-processed" version . I like all the details in it and (Although should be posted in ootb ) I would love to see a version of the op with the "Oil paint" filter used in CS6......

Thank you everyone. Let me take a little time to learn how to reduce the noise and I will rework the image. I'm not happy with the noise showing in the OP. agreed that it shows better details.
