    Default Brrrrrr on Lake Norman

    D7100 + 80-400 on Lake Norman Sunday

    f/5.3, 1/5000, iso640,fl=185mm

Windy, cold and very choopy day slowed the birds down some but made shooting a challenge

Like the wing position and the eyes staring right at you. Not sure if I would crop a bit off the top though

How are you finding this combo? Its an option I was considering.

    Thanks for sharing!

this combo is so good my d4,d800,300,400 and 500 haven't been used since I got it
I forgot how much fun a light crop body and a zoom could be and then there's the 1.3 Image Area mode on the D7100 that makes the 80-400 a 160-800 that rocks wide open at 5.6

  4. Thanks shane shacaluga thanked for this post

Excellent high-key image, and I love the straight-down-the-barrel look. Sharp and well exposed. Personally I'd crop off a bit top and bottom.

thanks Daniel and thanks for the feedback

I have been back and forth on the crop....normally i'd never leave that much white space (pun intended) but there was just something about this one

Very cool looking raptor. I like the idea of a HK in this one but I would crop on top and bottom.

One of your best for sure, agree on the crop, would take this shot to another level.
