Quite an unusual perch for this species, looks great with the foliage and two toned backdrop, the sky color is different, but nice, hint of red on the talons indicates it just had a meal...good stuff Greg

Nice head turn and eye contact. This bird has a pretty face with this beautiful eye. Nice details in the white especially on the belly. Like the two tone background. Great work, Greg.

Awesome light and subject Greg, I like the composition too. Looks like it might have been windy out there with the swept feathers. Great view of the powerful talons! I would make the sky a little less "cyan" and eliminate the tiny bit of leaves at bottom edge.

This is one of the nicest photos of a perched black-shouldered kite ( white tailed kite over here). Tack sharp, sweet light, beautiful eye, and nice BG and perch. Agreed with Daniel on the cloning out the tiny bit of leaves at the bottom.

Terrific image of a gorgeous bird. Love the windswept look. Whites look awesome and I just love the vegetation. Agree on the very bottom vegetation being a bit distracting but personally not a big fan of removing elements. Good call on the cyan cast in the sky, but once I brought the image into PS, realized that the cyan cast was on the entire image. This is a special image. Well done.

Hi Greg, great alert pose, and love their red eyes - really similar to our BSK. I like your placement, together with the surrounding foliage.
