Hi Frank, Glossy Ibis's always have such colourful iridescence, and in this its shows nicely. Good to see the head separated from the far wing. Im not sure if this is a large crop, as the IQ just isnt there unfortunately. I also feel the shooting angle is a bit high. Always try and capture your subject around eye level if possible, but I know its not always possible.

Lovely bird and colors. The quality of the image appears to be suffering from a large crop. How much did you crop this image? For me the bird looks a little cramped and I think could use some room bottom and left. Good flight pose and agree with Stuart that it's nice you have a head that is clear of the wings which isn't always easy to capture.

I was checking Jamaica Bay's East Pond for water level and wildlife so I traveled light.

Water is still high and 20-30 Glossy's were far away.

White Ibis (20) had also been reported, but they heard I was coming...
