    Hi
I took this Goldfinch at about 7am while out walking. For a change the sun was out and behind me.

The image has been cropped and a small area lightened with Viveza 2

Nicely caught but I would suggest a little readjustment of the initial capture in raw would benefit. The highlights are for me just a little bright and the red patch with black edges is lacking in detail. The head is just a tiny bit soft - was the image sharpened?

Composed very nicely Ian, morning light is sweet, diagonal through the frame is well done, lovely subject isolation and like the powder blue sky backdrop, catchlight in the eye is appealing as well.....was this a large crop as it does appear a little soft, but any softness is outweighed by the great setting....sweet image

    Hi
The image has been cropped quite heavily to get the frame , which might account for the softness . I don't think my little 400mm f5.6 has the reach to get a high def image from that distance.I might be asking to much from it. Tnx for the replys.
    cheers
    Ian

Although the head is a bit soft, I do like the comp and the perch.
