    Hello all, I'm back after some bad months of dealing with back surgery. I'm also retired now, so I will have more time to spend on BPN.

    Here's a Caspian Tern from the Salton Sea, captured in the act of capturing. One thing I like about this image is how you can see that the tern made a turn (haha) at the last second, veering to its right to catch the snack. My usual workflow - LR4 and PS CS6.

    1D4, EF400mm f/5.6L
    Manual mode, f/7.1@1/3200 ISO 400 WB 4900K
    AI Servo autofocus, hand-held no flash

    A lot to like about this one Kerry, agree the sudden turn/tern is great, well timed, love the little splashes left behind as well, The refection is excellent as well, but wiuld love to of been able to see it all in the image.

    I got one this weekend with a fish nearly as big as it was! Yours is MUCH better than mine. Wish I'd been closer when it happened. Also like the reflection. I'm very jealous of your retirement! Enjoy!

    Hi Kerry ,I hope your body heals quickly ,But Photographers never "Retire" Love the shot you posted here ,were it mine I would have cropped it tighter....And probly messed-up a good shot lol
