    Default Florida Screech Owl

While out photographing on the west coast of Florida I ran in to this little guy. He was curious of me as I was of him. We exchange looks for a few minutes before he departed. It was awesome to have this opportunity with this little screech owl.

What an awesome image, subject and I love the perch and BG you placed him on. Since I don't have your settings, I can only guess that you were shooting wide open bc the beak and eyes are sharp, but the sharpness falls off quickly from there. I would have liked this with more DOF. Also can't tell how dark it was by your ISO but if you were using a high ISO, I can understand why you didn't use more DOF. This is why it is so helpful to those posting critiques for photographers to include their settings.

There is a slight yellow cast on your image by about 10 points. Once you make the correction and toggle back and forth, you'll be able to see the difference quite easily.

From the looks of this youngster, it doesn't appear as though his flight feathers were developed enough to either fly to or from this awesome perch.

Just read Marina's post regarding yellow cast, she may be right but as I've never seen one I cant really be sure

What an awesome encounter, you could not have asked for a better subject, perch, and BG combo to stumble upon! I can only suggest darkening the brightest parts of the perch...all else looks good to me.
