Hi Janet, I like the desaturated and sketched look. I also like the posture of the gobblers and their feathers. I think the white bg makes it very effective. I would have preferred to have the left edge of the left bird just a bit more defined. Very nice processing!

Very nicely done. Part of the appeal is the unknown parts of the story we get to imagine when looking at this. The composition and the look you achieved are both great, and your removal of most of the background complements the rest of the image.

I think that's a pretty smart hen...
I like the subdued colors and, as Dennis mentions, the reduced background and foreground. I love the feather detail and poses. It would be fun to try writing a caption for this image.

Fantastic work, Janet. I love the result. What did you do in Lightroom after using Topaz Detail to get the sketchy drawing effect? I like it with the BG removed and just that bit of grass. Excellent.

Anita,
When I went back to Lightroom, I used the Adjustment brush to remove the background. And then I bumped up the clarity and desaturated more. Also bumped up the shadow control until I had what looked like a sketch.
Thanks for looking

Janet: Thank you for the explanation. I'll try it!

Well done! I really like the sketch-like effect, and the desaturation adds to the look. Those 2 big guys on the right have a bit of attitude and it makes me smile!

Janet, a nice story-telling composition. I like the desaturated look and appreciate your workflow - it's amazing how much you can do in LR.
