Shorebird
Just got another pile of snow last night so I was looking back at past photos featuring beach and sun. Not sure what kind of bird this is so if anyone knows please tell. Was not sure if the birds shadow is a distraction or not. I was just happy to get decent exposure in such bright sun at the beach. If this shows up as a link could someone tell me how to fix?

Aaaargh! still a link. This was the image code, should I be using the 'href' one? Now looking at this, I may have oversharpened after resizing.

Hi Jim, cant help with the ID, and also not sure where you are from or where this was taken. Your angle of capture works well, nice and low, and we have a good view of his surroundings, as you mentioned a beach. Yes, the bird is oversharpened as presented, and it looks like the light was fairly harsh.
With your resized image, you can redo your image and post again in this thread so everyone can see your changes.

I think this is a Sanderling, and it's on the shore of Lake Superior. Here's the image redone.

Much better with regards to the sharpening - well done.

That bird is a sanderling, all right!

Yep, Sanderling. The repost looks better with just the right amount of detail. Harsh light did not help (you could try reducing the contrast to see if that improves things), and a lower angle (if possible) would have given you a better smoother BG.
