    Default Spoonie on a stick

shot at the rookery at The Aligator Farm, I was 'watching' her, waiting for a wing spread pre take off, it's nice to be able to handhold a camera/lens for several minutes, in the past I would have been worn out holding a 300 2.8 or 500/4 and neither would have let me zoom in to where I wanted to be.....

    f/7.1,1/2500,iso400,focal length 320mm,ev=-.3,matrix metering
selective: sharpening and reduced highlites, cloned out some branches, cropped

[edit] i accidently inserted the wrong version of the image and when i fixed it i ended up with both versions and my text was pushed to the bottom. I don't see how to fix this in 'edit' mode. Any help would be appreciated

Wonderful pose. Love the wing detail. I don't know how to edit my post either but I wish every post showed before and after.

    thanks Jim

not a bad idea (showing before and after) so now I just wish I could move my text to the front of the post....strange that when you click edit you can't edit the pic(s)

Hi Randy, fixed the double posting for you. Excellent feather detail captured here, and love overall colour of the wings. Good DOF on the spoonie, sharp, and if anything, I wish for a lower angle of capture.

Angle is steep, a bit tight overall. Since you were watching the bird so you prob have more from the series that has better wing position.
    Exposure and sharpness look good.

thx for looking troy....i wish i had more of the snag to work with but i find the wing position perfect for what i wanted which was to show him teetering in the wind

this was right before he flew, he was very high on a snag....at the gator farm you take what you can get that has sky as a bg
