Photographed yesterday close to the rocky shore at Westport, NS, mid-afternoon sunlight.

    OM-D EM5, Panasonic 100-300, hand-held, IBIS on, lens OIS off, 1/2500, f/8.0, ISO640.

Raw file processed in LR4, quite large crop, some further tweaking with selective nr, resizing etc. in PSE9.

    Thanks for looking,

    Richard

Hi Richard! Wonderful species. Unfortunately, due to the large crop the details are lacking. Why don't those birds come closer ?

Looks like noise reduction has been too strong and had an adverse effect. It's such a frustrating balance.

Nice head turn and eye contact, Richard. It would be a rare bird around here.

You have a lovely subject here with good colors and a great pose. However, as Diane mentioned, the image quality is lacking. It does look as though it's as a result of noise reduction, the large crop, or a combination of the two.
