Malaysian Plover (Charadrius peronii)

Had fun shooting these guys today. They can really run. It was all I could do to get a bead on one when they took off.
These guys are banded buy the university ( I think )? I have never seen anyone on the beach here. I am curious about the banding. They are near threatened.

Got the female also: Go to the flickr site to see her and some more of him. She was really fast. I almost did not get a shot. She would take off blazing fast.
