This was taken on a walk around one of my local spots. These little birds (Europe's Smallest) are constantly flitting about and just do not stay still, so I could not believe my luck when not only did he stop but out in the open rather than in amongst the tree and branches.
I was contemplating taken the yellow lichen out at the bottom but decided to leave in.

Nicely capture pose. I do find the yellow at the bottom distracting, but instead of taking it out in post it would have been beneficial to have gotten lower during the shot to remove it. It looks like you were shooting down on this guy a bit?
Also, as a BPN member you should be able to upload the image so that we can see a thumbnail in the Avian forum. IMO, I think that gets you more views.
Posted before paying subs this evening. As for getting lower I did not have time this bird stayed there for all of 3 seconds. I have loads of shots with branches etc in the way. Tracking this devil as it darted around the trees was near impossible
Lovely bird and pose on the perfect perch for its size. I would never have known that the yellow at the bottom was lichen. I do find it distracting but I would leave it.
