Yesterday I captured this duck out on a log doing some serious preening.

This is nice. Background is awesome and having the duck standing on the tree makes it nice.

This really shows the range of incredible colors of this species. You captured the iridescent colors beautifully. Lovely composition.

Excellent image of handsome duck with beautiful colors, lights and lovely composition and great BG.
Tack sharp, however I think Head needs some more sharpening.

Technicolor Duck and muted tones backdrop = great combination. Looks very nice but am wondering if this is a big crop as the finer detail is just a little soft

Nice pose and perch on this one Karl. The exposure looks good and the colors and the BG are beautiful. Yes to a bit more sharpening to the head. Well done.

Great shot of this colourful duck, perched ducks are somehow more interesting than swimming ones, as we've grown to expect a duck to be swimming? Nice HA as well, agree about fine detail looking a bit soft though.

    Thank you all.
I got this comment twice in a row now that the head is soft.
I checked the active focus point and it was right on the eye.
It makes me wonder if it is time again to check the microadjustment of the lens, extender, camera combo.
I have LensAlign and Reican FoCal so I can pick and choose and I done it for about twenty times or more so I have the experience as well.
