    Default Nest Building

This was captured vertically in camera. Changing my focus point, and focussing on the nest, I waited until I saw a hint of the weaver coming into my frame and fired a burst. These guys are just to fast to track in flight in this enviroment. Furthermore, I was leaning over a fairly high wooden fence and shooting downwards. I realise the BG is fairly busy, but this is where they build their nests. Taken in the Pilanesberg National Park a little while back. I could nothing about the building material covering most of his eye.

Cool capture of natural behavior Stuart, like the out stretched wings/tail and the light on the nest is rather nice....amazing nature at it's best. I wonder how you or I would go at building a home with our teeth ?

I like everything about the shot except I wish I could see his face with the nesting material. I personally like the environmental aspect of the shot.

Perfect example of seeing the shot before you actually press the shutter, Stuart. Shows the bird's behaviour quite well. Doesn't bug me too much that building material is covering the eye. Love the outstretched wings and tail.

Excellent composition, the bird is nicely lit. As I always think, if it 's an action shot or behavior shot, minor details like missing eye contact, should not matter.
    Great image, Stuart.

You have caught the bird very well Stu and all the techs look spot on. My only criticism is one that may have been mentioned and that is apart from the outstretched wings the next most important feature is the face but unfortunately it is obscured due to the angle. Don't get me wrong I would certainly have taken an image like this in similar circs. but you have set such an incredibly high standard buddy I have to give it to you straight Summary I like everything except for not being able to see more of the head/face.

Hi Stu, This is lovely image showing the behavior of this species...I am sure you will continue to try and take that perfect image of this bird with nesting material and some eye contact..I would have been thrilled to have even this image in my profile TFS

Excellent technique & timing Stu. I like lovely BG, pose, composition & nesting material. As mentioned above I wish for a version with a little better head turn. TFS

Great timing on this one Stuart. Love the wing position and the colors . The nest is really cool hanging by only a small branch. Only wish for some eye contact. Well done
