    This was one of many coots I saw this morning -- they are pretty common around here. According to my histogram the whites did not need attention; please let me know what you think. I used a small crop and few adjustments. I will 'preciate all critiques . . .

    Look sharp with good details, the white look alright to me. To me the shadow cast on the ground is a plus in this image. Not sure if this is possible but I might try to lower the angle of shooting. Also might consider cropping just a little off the left side.

    The whites look ok to me. You did well with the exposure on the whites and blacks given the contrasty light. The pose is a nice as well. I would suggest getting a bit lower if the BG allows, and I might tone down the dirt a bit as well.
