You wouldn't recognize the starting image here -- I had to go back to the raw file to be sure, myself. Did the symmetry and then decided it needed a "real" BG (original was against blue sky). Went out and shot the BG as a single exposure, OOF in camera. Simple composite. Lucky to find matching colors.

Hi, Diane, I'm glad I've never seen one of those in my dreams. Nicely done. I think I'd prefer to not have the branch coming out of his head but since it's a dream I guess its fine.

I wasn't sure of the best placement re the BG but decided to go with just how it fell instead of arranging things. But good point about the branch -- easy to remove it as it's on a layer below the "bird."

The bird -- It is a bird, right? -- is delightfully comical, a wonderful creation. I really don't mind that branch, especially with it being out of focus. I like how the large upper branch pretty much follows the profile of the wings and head.

What, you birders don't recognize a Sandhill Crane!? I'll have to post the original, but I don't believe it myself except for the file names.

Here's the original. I have no idea what possessed me, or what I did after I was possessed....

Now it's even more amazing. I have no idea how you got from Point A to Point B, but I'm glad you did.

Amazing that you got final image from that original. Great work. I think you could resubmit it for the eyes theme, as the eyes were what I noticed first. I'd remove that one branch coming out of the head. Very creative work.
