    I love the detail, the crop, and how the bird's colors match the perch!

    It's a subtle point, but the perch branch becomes less complex right at the bottom edge (slightly less contrasty and more OOF), which helps "contain" it in the frame.

    All the color tones on bird, perch and backdrop are complimentary to each other, some nice detail coming through, but i think the eye/head needs and extra bit of sharpening as the focus point seems to be on the birds wing top

    While everything looks good individually (the perch, the BG, the pose), for some reason this image really isn't working for me. I can't put my finger on why.

    Thanks Marina. I'm pretty sure it is the mid day light. It is getting stronger now, even here.
