    Default Northern Harrier-Female

    Attached Images Attached Images

Captured this during the winter migration. There is a spot by a pond that I would sit at in the evenings after work and wait for Harriers to fly buy. This female gave me a nice head turn as she went by.
The light in my area can be very nice about an hour before sunset. Hope you like it.

Thanks as always for looking and for your input. Appreciated

yes I like it..........very desirable shutter speeds achieved and extra nice quality of light. Certainly has that hard to achieve 3D look, that front wing almost looks like it's about to exit the frame. I especially taken by the earthy color schemes in the backdrop....sweet !

What a gorgeous shot! Love the warm light, clear focus from wing-tip to wing-tip, and of course that eye! Just lovely.

    Wow David!
I love the light and the painterly quality of the BG.
The whites on the rump are perfectly exposed (something that is almost impossible to do).
    Love everything about it.
    Congrats on a beautiful shot,
    Gail

This is really a top notch capture. The colors are just gorgeous. The raptor pops off of that BG. IQ and sharpness are spot on.

David, love it! Tack sharp image with great details of the top wings, head, eye. Sweet light and BG. The bird just pops out of the BG. I got to make it over there next winter.

Yes, I agree with every compliment. By far, one of the best flight images I've seen of this species in some time.
Nice subject size in the frame. Awesome background achieved. The light quality is super deluxe.
