Over Easter I was down the coast and one day I sat watching some Pacific Gulls on some rocks at the ocean edge. This one was interesting in that every time a big wave crashed against "it's" rock, it would jump/fly straight up and then down again. So I cranked up the S/S and fired off some frames every time it jumped - I only got one decent frame as, in most of the others, the gull was obscured by a mass of seaspray!

Thanks, Greg
That's different, certainly a case of being in the right place at the right time....and having the forethought to get it on camera. Well timed Greg for both bird and spray ...spray looks almost like snow
Greg, you saw the opportunity and potential and went for it...way to go! The backlighting positively adds to what was already a dramatic setting to begin with. Excellent stuff.
What a great image, good obs spotting such an opportunity, Great to catch all the spray. Have a look at the BWPA website, the winner 2 years ago was a similar shot with spray and seaweed all over the bird.
Great to capture behaviour like this rather than a static bird. Excellent image, love the seaspray as the background and pose. I can't get over the size of that bill, cracking looking gull.
