    Default Piping Plover Chick

    Attached Images Attached Images

    EOS 1D Mk IV, 500mm f/4L IS + 1.4xII, 1/640, f/8, ISO 400

    Photographed at the end of July last year on the north shore of Massachusetts.

    We had some bad storms at the start of the nesting season last year and many eggs were lost.
    Fortunately, some of the birds re-nested and we had some very late chicks like this one.

    Excellent low shooting angle, great detail and the cutiness factor is very high, Mike.

    Cute as a button !...impossibly big legs and not much bigger I presume, very much a feel good image sure to bring a smile to everyone's face.

    Like also how he/she sits smallish in the frame emphasizing his Lilliputian stature.

    { it's been a long tome since I've seen beach nesters like this, stray cats make short work of them sadly }

    Way too cute. The low shooting angle brings us into his world. Very nice, Mike.

    What a lovely image! Love the sharpness, details and composition. The angle with good DOF give a sense of environment yet mange to have a clean background, very well done.

    Very cute little cotton ball with legs. Techs look great and I like the comp with all the negative space, makes him/her look that much smaller . Well done.
