    Default Oystercatcher Aerial Battle

Went to Nickerson Beach this weekend with fellow BPN'ers Nick Palmieri and Betty Wiley. It was windy and cold.....but we had decent action. This was my first time out with the Sigma 150-500. It is nice to be able to hand hold once in a while and I was pleasantly surprised by the lenses performance!!! I concentrated on the battle as I was looking to test the sharpness as well as the tracking. For about $1,000 US.....this lens performed more than admirably as I got plenty of fight keepers! Don't panic.....not getting rid of the 300-800 or the 120-300......but still a viable option for those on a limited budget!

Well done Roman. Both birds are tack sharp. What was your aperture? (You forgot your exif data!)
I like your choice of composition. Great winp position and poses. I would rotate the image CW.
Beach is nice and clean but I would still be tempted to clean it up a bit more.
I like the shadows on the ground as well.

Nice action and both birds are sharp with good head angles. I'd also do some rotation as well. Looks like you are very happy with the Sigma lenses.

    Hey Gail,
Why rotation? Doh on the exif: f/9 at ISO 800 for 1/3200 sec. @ 500mm.

Nicely timed and sharp as well, like the open snapping beak of the higher bird, great interaction and like the shadows on the ground, exposure looks well handled Roman and good testament to the 150-500.

Great IQ is a testimonial to what you have already suggested, Roman. Love the interaction, pose(s) and composition.

Lovely interaction, Roman and excellent job on getting both n your DOF. Perfect exposure and sharpness as well. Nicely done with a "lesser" lens.
