Common native pest bird and sadly they seem to be moving into my area atm.

Canon 7D + 500 f4.....f5, 1/320, ISO 800, no flash, hand held....crop to vertical , selective sharpen and background noise removal, cloned smooth one bright patch on the left

I like the sharpness, exposure, pose and clean BG. Composition wise I might move the bird a sliver to the right but fine as presented. Well done Phil! Are you still having to deal with extreme heat?

At least they make for wonderful photography subjects from the looks of it! Excellent perch...was it chosen by you as a setup?

This is awesome. Great IQ, nice pose and perch. Hopefully the other species will stay around now that this guy rule the land. Nice work, Phil.

Thanks for looking...,.the extreme heat has gone now and we are starting to get some nice Autumn weather, but some rain would be a nice extra

Not a set up Daniel, I rarely use setups, this is simply from a nearby council park

This may be a pest but it is a handsome fellow! Fine exposure and sharp, love the old perch and excellent BG. Just curious, why are these birds pests?

Top image Phil - the sweetness of this image masks the true nature of this aggressive species!

Pests because they are very aggressive to other birds chasing them away and removing others nests from trees....basically if Noisy Miners move into the area, most of the other birds are move out and the bio-diversity of birds in a region are diminished significantly
